Canon Pixma MP280 Series - The PIXMA MP280 is budget all-in-one, the part of the various companies launched in the fall of 2010. It bears a remarkable resemblance to the Pixma MP495, tested a few weeks ago, but it is about 20 percent cheaper, because there's already support a wireless network and is said to be slower.

It's a modest-sized engine, with matt black lid for the scanner as well as conventional paper path that runs from the vertical tray, 100 sheet closely behind through one horizontal at the front, formed by folding down the front cover. Automatic cover down to the bottom, if you forget to open it before starting to print, and has a flip-top extension to support full of printed documents.

The Control Panel has a surprising number of indicators as well as buttons, although there are no LCD panel to show menu or image thumbnails. It does not require the latter, since there is a memory card slot or a USB drive on the machine, either. There is a one-character LED display to select nine copies at the time and the cycle segment round to show when the printer is busy.

Single LED is used to indicate a paper jam and the ink is low, and there are others for paper type and size. On the front control panel is six buttons to start and cancel the black and color print jobs, as well as those to scan, settings and corresponding images to the page. This function is not usual in this machine.
